Today's Philadelphia Daily News reports that a mile-long CSX container train, filled with New York City garbage, has been sitting on the former B&O tracks in the heart of downtown for well over 24 hours, baking in the sun. It's on the east bank of the Schuyulkill, opposite 30th St. Station.
CSX reports the train was bound for points south but was halted due to flooding around Richmond.
Worse, the train sits across a street crossing heavily used by joggers and cyclists for access to the waterfront park. They are apparently crawling under and around the cars.
