I have a friend that lived in romania her whole life. One day in conversation, it came up that i am a train fan. She said she has never been on an american train before and wants ever so badly to go. (unfortunatley, amtrak is not the best passenger service ever had in the world, but i got to work with what i got). My question is what kind of trip does a non-train fan enjoy? Most of us rail buffs can sit for literally hours on end and enjoy the ride, but what about our 'regular' friends? Should we take a half hour long trip so she won't be bored? Or do we take a day long trip to fully enjoy the ride?[sigh] <br /> <br />has anyone had this problem before? can anyone help?I love to impress my friends with trains and this is a perfect chance, i just dont want to blow it...
