here are some shots i took during my latest western wanderings.

we will start off at the siding just east of Santa Rosa NM. this is one of my favorite places cause i can park the 18 wheeler right alongside the tracks and get some good pics.

next, we wander off to central New Mexico. these were taken just east of Thoreau NM. i pulled the rig off on the shoulder of old Route 66 and headed ove to the fence to get these shots. first are a couple of shots of an eastbound BNSF stack train off in the distance.

the reason i stopped here is that i passed a westbound BNSF unit coal train and i wanted to wait for it and get some good pics. here is a shot of it that i took while i was driving (safe driver award HA![:D])

and here are a couple of shots of the 3 lead SD70MAC's and a shot of the 2 pushers on the rear. it must have been going to the Cholla power plant in Joseph City AZ. it is the only one out here that gets powder river coal.

while driving across Arizona, just west of Winslow, i came across this train. it had all these locos and only about 20 intermodal cars. guess they needed the power back east.

and on the way back from all this fun, we stopped at the Flying J truckstop in Kingman, which sits right along the BNSF main, and i got this shot of an eastbound.

and last, here are a couple unpatched SP AC4400's leading an eastbound coal train somewhere west of Glenwood Springs Colorado. this was taken on a different trip.

ENJOY!!!!
