There were so many wonderful trains from the august 20th Century Limited to the Laker they were all interesting in their own way. My favorite was the Capitol Limited on the B&O. The equipment was always an example of a railroad that had to try harder; blue and gray and stainless steel with domes and Slumbercoaches, twin unit diners with superb food, and a warm feelng of home whenever you road it. The service was impecable from waiters, who were no less than courtly, to Pullman porters who set the very standard for quality service. Whenever I road this train it was an excursion into the land of pleasent living.
