Hi lazwerg- I'm over in Fond du Lac, and the latest info I've heard is that the CN wants to keep in place for now, as a detour route. Many suggestions have been made as to it's use otherwise, such as bike trail, etc. but nothing firm yet. In the last days of the WC, derailments were frequent on this line, and the last movements I personally saw were inspection trucks about 6 months ago(I do construction work in that area occasionally).
