A 16-year-old girl was injured Thursday morning after her car was struck by a train she was trying to outrun, Mobile police said.

McCall was driving a 1997 Mitsubishi Mirage southbound on Weinacker Avenue near Ladd-Peebles Stadium around 8 a.m. when she was struck by a westbound Canadian National Railroad train crossing near Old Canal Road, Gallichant said. Officers working wreck determined that McCall was trying to beat the train at the time of the collision, Gallichant said.

This girl is extremely lucky to come out of this with only minor injuries. Hopefully she will think TWICE before trying to beat another train to a crossing.
