Gladstone, Michigan?
Posted by nucat78 on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 12:36 PM

Once upon a time Gladstone, Michigan was a division point for the WC (ex-Soo).  A friend's dad was a brakie and worked to Rhinelander or Sault St Marie.

I haven't been there for several years and I'm wondering what CN is doing with it.  Is the yard still active?  Anybody know the major traffic flows and online customers?  Used to be mainly pulpwood and kaolin tankers, maybe for Mead in Escanaba?

Thanks.

There seemed to be some action there last time I was in the area (summer 2005).  I would assume that it's still a crew-change point for CN, and that the yard probably handles the freight for points north (Marquette, etc.) over the former CNW trackage as well.
