Man lying on tracks killed by freight train
ABC13 Eyewitness News
(10/26/03 – HARRIS COUNTY) — A man is dead after being struck by a freight train in northwest Harris County early Sunday morning.
It happened near the intersection of Hargrove and Cutten, about three this morning. The crew of a northbound Burlington Northern train spotted the man lying on the tracks. They sounded the train's horn, and tried to stop using the emergency brake.
The man was run over, killing him instantly. Police found no alcohol, and do not believe the victim was intoxicated.
