Actually I think $250 is too low for the first offense. You can bet your bottom dollar that if they receive a ticket for a "first offense" it probally is NOT their first offense. It is just the first time they got caught. <br /> <br />Make the "first offense" a $500 ticket. Make the second ticket $1,000. <br /> <br />It is time the public wised up about railroad crossing and stopped treating them (with the court and laywers help) as lifelong income. <br /> <br />
