Kathi - get well soon! And a word of advice from one lady to another - mother always said ladies should not lift their legs that high! Guess we both now know why!

For those who need more info on Kathi here it is, straight from another thread"

Oh, Jim, thank you so much! Those are seriously funny and I need a double dose today, too.

(As I sit here coughing up a lung and trying to reduce the swelling in my knee#8212;I must not have lifted my heel high enough Saturday when I spun around to break my board at my Tae Kwon Do belt test. At least I passed!)

*sigh*

Oh, well. There are certainly far worse things in life, right? The older I get, the more I realize there's precious little in this world truly worth getting our undies in a bundle over.

Keepin' it cool,
Kathi

Hey K.

Sorry to hear you're "bad ordered" Hope you get back to 110% ASAP. Good opportunity to watch a train video, that always makes me feel better.

Aw, that's so sweet! Thanks, all, for the kind words. (And Mookie, you're entirely right about that one!![:D])

Jeff, I'll have to remember to tell my doctor I'm "bad ordered!" Way cool. Since I do product reviews for the magazine, I've got a pretty good collection of videos to choose from.

I'm sure I'll be up and around again very soon. In the meantime, thanks again for the nice thoughts.

All my best,
Kathi

Hey Kathi,
I don't know what you were trying to build, but I hear a circular saw works better at cutting boards.[B)] Just kidding. Congrats on passing your test, and keep up the good work. I've had a couple of joint injuries before and they are really no fun.[V] I still can't decide which one was worse, the sprained elbow from patting myself on the back, or the strained knee form kicking myself in the butt.[:D]. Probably, the knee.....cause aftrward my butt was sore, too.[}:)]

Get well, soon.

Admiral.

You should see the poor thing hobbling around and coughing. Her dedication to the magazine is admirable. I'm honored to work with her.

Kathi--get better--it's killin' me.

Gather all of the sympathy you can...it worked for me after my biking accident when I was about your age...

The pain eventually goes away; trust me! Hoping that happens sooner, rather than later, for you.

Willy2- welcome to the BLUE club. I takes a while for three stars, as people said. BTW, after some calculations I predict to make my 500th post sometime around JAN 09 2004 if i keep up my pace. Can you get five stars?
How's Kathi doing?

This is the only forum like this where you start off with zero stars, rather than one, but at least they'll come a bit more quickly.......for the record the hardest forum to get stars in is at www.rainbowbrite.net, where it's 250 for second star (you start with one), then it keeps escalating. That forum is about, well.....that 80's character who may have inspired the paintscheme of the Florida Funtrain!

To Wabash1 (Kathi, just sit back and smile!)

No training wheels...at between 3000 and 5000 miles a year on a bike I outgrew them long ago.

In all of those miles, I've been hit by cars three times. The first one was the worst: compound fracture on collarbone, cut on head requiring stitches, two broken ribs. First time in my life I'd had broken bones, first time I'd had stitches, first time I was ever knocked out. And the driver who did it to me never stopped. I was in the hospital for two days, and out of work for about three weeks. The other bumps and bruises I got made it very difficult to walk without pain, until one day the pain was gone. It probably was slowly disappearing the entire time, but you just all of a sudden realize that, hey, you're okay, and it's great to be back.

When I went to work again, I was on my bike (which was repaired while I was). Fifteen years and three bikes later, I'm still at it.
