What is the problem with the GE's? They are selling like hot cakes. I like them all but opinions are allways interesting and welcome on the subject of locomotives.

ge's are junk. as an engineer, they take way too long to "load" especially if you are going over 40mph. they "fight" with emd's because they don't load as fast, their wheelslip system is awful and very few of them work good over 50mph, especially on less than perfect track. also, try riding one of those dash 8,9 wides over 55mph, cause that's when they start hunting side to side, not very comfy. and they are rough riders anyway. give me an SD-70 or 60 any day!

The comment on the wheel slip system is interesting cause everything I have read is that the GE system is better than the EMD. I had read that the GE units ride like a bowling ball and take their time loading though. This is good information and I thank you
