Lightroom Beta for Windows is Here!
Posted by CopCarSS on Wednesday, July 19, 2006 12:28 AM

For all the budding photographers out there, Adobe has today released Lightroom Beta 3 for Windows (the Mac version has been out for a little bit). This program, like Apple's Aperture, is a whole new approach to photo editing. I can't elaborate a whole lot, as I've just downloaded it about 15 minutes ago myself, but rest assured, I plan to put it through it's paces.

The download is available here:

Michael Reichmann has some info (though admittedly about Beta 1 for Mac) up on the Luminous Landscape here:

Keep in mind that this is a Beta version. However, I think the fresh approach to the processing of digital files is a most welcome change, and truly look forward to playing with the Beta version, and even more so to when the full retail version is available.

For those that may be interested, I've been jabbering quite a bit about LR in the Diner. However, if you wish to avoid my sometimes over-enthusiastic, and hard to follow commentary, Ian Lyons has produced a nice overview on Lightroom for Windows Beta 3. Check it out at:
