A steamboat ran into the bridge and it burned down, and the steam boat comapany sued the railroad; luckly Abe helped IC out. Mark Twain had some pretty good quotes like 'Put all your eggs in one basket and watch that basket!' This one however is from Teddy Roosevelt.
