You know who may be able to shed some light on this is n_stephenson as he seems to be very well informed. My bet is that he works for the railroad. How about it n-stephenson? <br />After looking at the photos, it is hard to believe that no one died! That is some whallop that the CN unit took from the NS diesel! <br />I guess this instance begs the following question: Seeing as there have been previous incidents here, why haven't the railroads involved reconfigured the crossing. It may sound naive but considering the loss of motive power (those diesels don't come cheap), rolling stock, transported goods, trackage, and time it would seem much cheaper to have invested in physically reconfiguring that crossing, thereby avoiding such incidents as this! I don't get it... Why not change this before someone gets killed or maimed. [%-)]
