If it wasn't painted Cotton Belt, someone's pulling your leg. There's only one SP-family F-unit ever painted that way, SSW 330/306, an FP7. When it went to SP in the 60's it was already in the bloody nose paint scheme and was renumbered 6462. Here is a photo: <br /> <br />http://www.divisionpoint.com/photos/EMD_Fs/StL+SW-306.jpg <br /> <br />While we're on the subject SSW had the SP family's other oddity--the only GP7 SSW 320/304, also painted Daylight. Thjis unit also eventually got the bloody nose paint job.
