Sometimes marketers use cookies to literally count how many times you click on a ad or sponsor link. They then report home. Cookies are useful but think of them as post it notes scattered all over the machine. Been here done that and passed thru there etc... I use Yahoo with it's support software that cleans my cache, cookies and temp files as well as history weekly or more often. I also have a number of utilities which I get into several times a week hunting viruses, worms and spyware. Keeping the windows free of "extras" clogging your drive helps your machine perform better. The only drawback is the necessary re-entering your user names and passwords. For me that is not a issue.
