The power company was building a new substation out in the county, and the generators were brought in by the UP on special flat cars, some with two 3-axle trucks on one side. Attached to one of the cars on the siding that the generators were being offloaded from were 3 old Mo-Pac scale cars. I didn't actually see the generator while they were on the cars, but saw some pics of them being taken down county roads to the plant.

Right now (Sat 10/11), there is a complete train on BNSF (Led by a Santa Fe SD40-2 and an ex CR HLCX SD40-2) ready to go south from Denver with 50+ 89' flatcars with the tower sections (10 ft. diameter white tapered cylinders). Traffic on nearby I-25 is slowing to watch this odd parade pass by.

On Thursday (10/16) there was a special move through Bay City, MI on the Central Michigan Railway. It was a large Concrete cylinder on a Schanbel flatcar containing spent nuclear fuel rods. The train consisted of a locomotive, two idler cars, the special flat car, a security caboose, and a blue business car, The Blue Ridge. The train originated in Gaylord, MI. and was traveling to South Carolina. Its maximum speed is 25MPH. It was routed LSRC, CMGN, CSXT.

Up here on NS main I spotted one NS dash-9 pulling approximatly 44 John Deere Farm machines, there were 2 per flatcar, they were heading east just coming out of the tunnels and heading toward altoona. This was weird I thought, they were not covered or anything, just sitting on flat cars. They were very large, I know nothing about farming, but they were'nt little tractors. Guessing some type of harvesting, maybe goin to an east port ? ?
