Thanks for the complements guys.

FUZZYBROKEN: The bridge shape is adted back to the early 1900's. It has been fixed a couple of times, but it is very old. So I agree, it doesn't look like it could hold those engines, let alone the train.

Wow. Great shot.

The lighting is perfect, there is action, the background is great. The bridge is crumbling...you did it!

I recognized that location immediately. My shot of it is terrible in comparison; of course I was doing 60-70 MPH on a cloudy day through a tinted window at the time.

It's a great photo, Glen_Ellyn, but it's not like you managed to defeat the Hounds of Hades to get that shot accepted...

You prove my point..."its in the eye of the beholder"!!! SO how does a site like Railpictures have any room to judge?!?! "Only what we consider good will be accepted, the heck with all the 'crappy' shots". So there are no standards, my standards are completely different from your and everony elses out there! When it is YOUR site you can publish everything that comes through the door if you want. When it is THEIR site, they publish what they want. Live with it, improve your quality or get your own site.

Looks good Glen Ellyn - now to celebrate you ought to go over to e-bay and try to locate one of the Hafner stations with your screen name lithoed on the side. [:)]

As to the comments about Railpictures picture criteria I don't always agree with their criteria but I do think their screeners do a pretty good job of keeping to the same set of criteria. I've had several pictures accepted there and I've had dozens more rejected. On one occasion I did query them about the reason for rejecting a particular picture because as near as I could tell it had met their requirements. The screener who had rejected the picture replied with a brief but very helpful explanation and I was able to apply that additional information to my next round of submissions which resulted in 4 out of 8 shots being accepted.

As for the rejects - well, as has been noted, preferences with respect to things like pictures are subjective. There are any number of pictures I've taken which, while they didn't and wouldn't meet Railpictures criteria still give me a sense of accomplishment and pride and which delight others who view them.
