The Milwaukee Road gave this system a try in the late 70s thru early 80s, but the crews hated them, and they didn't stay for long. I have herd a recording of one of these bells and they truly are annoying[^]. <br />[/quote] <br /> <br />You're right! It sounded like a radio with a bad signal. I can see/hear why crews hated it... Is that cheaper than the normal kind? Or do they want to make it sound more annoying so people will actually pay attention?
