The Chicago & New York Electric Air Line was one of the great pipedreams of the interurban era. Only a few miles were actually built and they were absorbed into the system of city and suburban lines that became Gary Railways. Central Electric Railfans Association published a bulletin titled "Gary Railways" that included a short history of the line.
