The first thing you tell them is that scoudrel James J Hill is likely going to take over the North Bank of the Columbia with his Spokane, Portland & Seattle line, so you better act fast if you want a water level grade to the west side of the Cascades. Secondly, you tell them to vote down Rockefeller and accept a joint PCE with the Chicago & Northwestern to share the financial burden. Lastly, you advise them that if they want the absolute best line from Chicago to Puget Sound, lower operating costs trump expensive engineering anytime - keep your mountain divisions short and sweet. Gentle grades and minimized curvature <br /> <br />By the way, you're more likely to die from the flu than you are dying in combat, so you're probably better off shipping off to France and getting together with some frisky French girls and going through a few bottles of French wine, than you are going to the jungles of the Amazon. Just stay out of the trenches and keep your feet dry.
