A pleasent light rail story or two
Posted by trainboyH16-44 on Tuesday, October 4, 2005 12:45 PM
One day, I was standing on the platform of the Calgary LRT, lost in tought, just off of the yelloqw line, when I hear a nathan 3 tone horn, and the sound of a diesel engine. I whip around, before I realisethat they have new horns on the LRT that sound just like the prototype! Also, there was a truck going by.

A few days later, A friend was running for the LRT when he heard the 'door closing' beepers. Indiana Jones stlye, he threw his lunchbox, it stopped in the door laser, and he jumped in.

I know, worststories ever, but it's still something to read!

Your friend would have felt pretty stupid if the lunchbox made it and he didn't.[:O]

Once when I was 11 I was riding a brill car at a museum in Maine. Then a fellow tourist asked if the trolley was deisel powered. Being my juvenile self I accidently yelled " Are you stupid? The train's electric!" I didn't get to play with lego's for a whole month after that incident[:(]

Not only that but the bomb squad would probably be waiting at the next station to scrutinize the lunchbox and the station would no doubt be evacuated. Then of course the media would get involved ,ect,ect.......[(-D][(-D][(-D][(-D][(-D][(-D]

LOL, I guess......
I was really suprised at the horn though. I always called Ctrain horns "Sissy" but now they are loud and realistic!
