Today I was up in Portola, California visiting the Portola Railroad Museum and I got a photo of UP 1983, the WP heritage unit, with WP caboose 484. They were switching some cars into the museum with the UP 1983.

Oh, I found some sort of Steam engine there too![:D]

I know that many of the purists do not like the 'contemporized' legacy livery's, but I think THAT is a good looking train

Jim,
Paint me WP green with envy. I spent a whole day waiting for the 1983 and got skunked. You find it and it's hanging out with a steamer.[8D]

AntiGates,

I agree with you, I enjoyed looking at this unit. It brings some added excitment to hanging out trackside.

Chad,

Only wished you were there! Had a long day, both up at Portola, and then down home near Verdi during the last of light along the "Overland Route" This was the first day I've felt normal. Do you think I'll be at Portola at 8 AM Friday morning?

I think he knew he'd be in a few pictures. He had ear plugs and safety classes on, and was looking very professional. I think he adds to the photo of the 1983.
