I'm looking at maps in the morning paper. It looks like you're in for a little rain?

Naw. We had an inch of rain last night and expect 2-3 more inches today but the wind has only been about 30 mph. Someon'e house alarm went off at 3:30 a.m. and it woke me up, but other than that it's a beautiful morning in Sarasota.

I live in SE Florida Palm Beach County to be exact & we got some wind & some rain & now the sun is out. Western Florida & the panhandle needs to be on the lookout for this one as it will grow over the Gulf of Mexico into maybe a big time hurricane [:o)][:p]

I'm writing this sitting in the sun in Tampa - the Weather Channel continues to panic over this storm, but compared to the four horsemen last year, this was a stiff breeze.

That's very interesting! Right now Noon our time- the national radio news is doing doom and gloom hurricane news.[}:)] So a hurricane could be bearing down on you right now,and all you can see is stars?[^] I guess the moral is : forget about the hurricane. Don't let the media blow you away.[;)]

The media have nothing to sell if they can sell fear. Experienced the 4 Florida Hurricanes last year and they didn't have as much hot air as the media hype. There have been storms forever and there will be storms forever. Repair the damage and go on.

Was in Kansas earlier this year and there was an afternoon of Tornadic activity in the area.....THAT WAS ALL THAT WAS ON THE MEDIA. The result of the afternoon and evenings weather activity was a small tornado tore up some trees in a remote unoccupied area.

There is too much media, trying to fill too much time.

Never too old to have a happy childhood!

Just yesterday, the Weather Channel was showing people shopping in a Publix in West Palm -- they reported people "flocking to stores to stock up". Well, it looked to me like it was a normal traffic at a grocery store on a Thursday afternoon.
