Hate?

Care?

Wow!

They got a job to do and it shouldnt be determined by changing a color scheme of a locomotive, or not having a steam engine run in the summer.

Being a CEO, particularly a large corporation is a huge responsibility. Dont think so? What about World Com's ceo? Enron? How would you like the responsibility of being CEO of GM or Ford right now?

Lets see, you are Ted Rose and you have to decide between:
A. Increasing dividend to make the stock more attractive to shareholders (owners).
B. Increase stock buyback program to make stock more attractive.
C. Invest the $$$ instead into physical plant and equipment which may not even cover the cost of capital.
D. Do nothing and hope UP doesnt eat your lunch in 5 years.

Take a long hard read on the Milwaukee Road thread going on right now and you will see what happens when you have CEO's that cannot or will not make the correct decision. Rail lines and jobs disappear.

I doubt very much he knows this but maybe he knows the person in charge of the operation. What the heck is CN doing with the bridge construction over the QEW highway near Niagara Falls, Ontario?

I can't figure for the life of me, what they are doing and why they are doing it that way.

How can anyone hate a corporate bigwig who has so many railfans eager to tell him how to spend his company's dollars? Union folks are the same way.

Samsooter, send me your personal family budget and I'll be glad to tell you how to spend it. You think you hate railroad CEOS . . .

If you're not going to responsible for the bucks, don't criticize the guy that is responsible. Everybody has a boss besides his wife - even a railroad CEO.

Hey samsooter, is it slim or slime?

Some may be figuratively more slim than others, but none are slime.

In reality, it would hard for a railfan to dislike a Railroad CEO who probably puts in 12+ hour days running the railroads we find so interesting.
