BNSF line Abandonment?
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, July 18, 2005 3:13 PM
I would like to know if the BNSF has Abandoned the McCook line from Lincoln to Denver,Co. I heard that the BNSF did some Traffic changes in the Lincoln area too,and if this line is up for Abandonment what will Amtrak do next since Amtrak uses this line anyway. Allan.

BNSF may have detoured some trains off of this line to open up some work windows. This is a main line and I can't see BNSF wanting to drop it. They would have to route Lincoln-Denver traffic through Alliance or over UP.

Line is alive and well, just added 3 major shuttle train facilities on it....

Did you confuse the Akron Sub. (LS2) somehow with the ex-BN, now NKCR Wallace Sub (LS 180) which meet at Holdrege???
