Actually, preliminary work on this project has been underway for four years, including relocating sewar. water. gas, and electric lines so tracks can be constructed without providing access to these facilities, and house demolitions, also highway and street lane relocations. Originally, there was to be a lot more tunneling, but traffic replanning has permitted plans to be revised for surface operation in certain of these areas, such the one near City Hall and Damascus Gate.
