Question about doublestack container cars..
Posted by canazar on Sunday, June 19, 2005 12:12 AM
Ok, thought I would bounce this off you guys... On the typical double stack container car, like the ones that are grouped in sets of 5. What size wheel do they run? 28". 33"? or 36"? Any info would be great.

I am in the middle of a somewhat good spirted debate of my train HO train club as everyone is trying to tell me what size metal wheels to get and I have no idea.. Love to quiet the herd[:)].

Thanks much

Best Regards

End trucks: 70-ton (33")
Center trucks, under articulated connections: 100-ton (36") on earliest cars; 125-ton (38") on most cars.
