Noticed a long train of empty auto racks heading north.Question: where do they park all the excess cars when they can't be used?2/do the car owners get paid even when they're not being used?

your location tells me either the racks are going to detroit or to the fostoria auto mixing center east of fostoria ohio.plenty of extra room there for the racks.

The Austin Area Terminal RR stored about 2 miles of unused auto racks on an old line between Giddens and Elgin TX for about a year. They were next to US 290. Business must be better now.
