Does anyone know if they're are any Norfolk and Western GP-9 Redbirds still around? Either in exursion service or stationary display. I would love to be able to see one.

I imagine they all got repainted black once passenger service was cut on 1 May '70.

Several of them were repainted blue in the late 1960's. I do remember several blue GP9's in the 500 series on the "Blue Bird" and "City of Decatur".
The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul

There is a Redbird at NCTM. Saw it several years ago. It's a restored stand-in with an incorrect number, 620. Look authentic, though. See their website
