I've got to ask Devil 505. Is that his mother or father touching Ollie's name?? I can't make out who it is. I wish all the best to his family and friends.

I didn't take the pic, but the caption on the bottom says it was his mother. Plus it looks like a woman to me.

Thanks for the story.

Make A Wish seems to do very good work.

That seems like a very worth charity to contribute whatever you can afford to contribute to them.

I too always have a soft spot in my heart for the kids and especially those with life threatening diseases.

Yeah, I had tears in my eyes, too. Mad props to Metra. It's awesome to see people do the right thing for no other reason than because it's the right thing to do.

Like so many others, I was absolutely touched by this incredible story. I'll admit that I have had bad feelings about Metra in the past, due to the scrapping of Richard Jensen's GTW pacific, which they were entirely responsible for (an injustice that still angers me). But that was back in 1988 and obviously after 17 years now have a management that is much more caring and warm-hearted. It was an extremely kind and unselfi***hing to do. I applaud you, Metra! I also aplaud the Make-A-Wish Foundation for this and all the other wonderful work they do! I wonder how many other corporations would be willing to do something like this. It's amazing how a little things like putting a decal on a locomotive or giving someone a cab ride can mean so much and touch people so deeply. There should definetly be a model of this engine released. Thanks for sharing this one, LC!

Great job, Metra.

Another spot of light in our all-too-dark lives.
