I noticed that President Bush spoke at Cincinnati Union Station earlier this week. I wonder if any other President ever spoke there?

I watched as President Bush walked in to deliver his speech that evening...He appeared not to even notice the magnificence of the room. Nor did he look around as he was leaving.

I guess he has a lot of other things on his mind besides 1933 art decco. I agree, it is a marvelous building. I still miss the concourse and the train callers' echo. Remember "Balllmoooore an Ohire" and "Norrrfork an Wesserrrn"?

That experience was one of a kind...The hustle in the massive "stations"...I can recall the ambience of the Pennshlvania Railroad Station in NYC during World War II...an excitement hard to duplicate.

It is a bit ironic that the President would give a speech in a great train station, when by acting against Amtrak his administration is placing in jeopardy the future of passenger rail.

He's not the most perceptive type,..yanno?

He seems to believe the best way to stop unamerican activity is to usurp the supreme law of the land.

I'll bet he didn't try the voice over the arch trick either. That works, your voice does carry across the dome and it sounds like it's inside. "Psst, Hey Lady, Your slip is showing."
