Hi
in case you missed the newswire Norfolk southern is building an additional wye in Butler Indiana for trains coming off the wabash line to go on the NYC chicago mainline.this way they dont have to go to Ft Wayne to turn to go to Chicago.Just more trains for me and matt to go see(when were not in deshler[:)])

Because it is really a connecting track, not a wye, that's why.

Actually, there is very little Detroit-Fort Wayne-Chicago traffic running via Fort Wayne, this is for the new CP trackage rights pools to be established between Detroit and Chicago. I understand that CP is building their own crew facility in Elkhart.
