Someone we know on the forum is on a vacation, taking a
train trip. Can you figure out who it (they) are?
HINT: NOT locomutt and me, either[:(]

If the mystery couple passes through Fullerton,CA on a Friday or Saturday night,I'll be there.Look for me on the north side of the tracks, east of the pedestrian overpass[:)].
Is this a female whose user name starts with "M"?

Gee, if you posed this question three days from now, I could have supplied a different answer.

Sorry I missed them in Chicago.

Carl, Nance called me about 2 p.m. our time yesterday: they were there
in Chicago. Should have reached their destination about 10:30, 11 last
night.

Hi everyone: Our trip from Tucson to Chicago and on to Jackson MI was great! We left Tucson a little late about 1:45 a.m. Amtrak Sunset LImited both directions comes through Tucson now in the middle of the night! Our sleeping bedroom was all ready for us, though, when the train arrived and we did sleep well. We awoke early and really enjoyed the scenery. We had to stay in our sleeping car overnight in San Antonio. Other than the fact they kept moving the car around for various maintenace, I guess, we had no problem. One lady got off the train when we first arrived in San Antonio, although we were told not to . She had to wait 2 1/2 hours to get back on. She was a mother who was traveling as a chaperone with a group of eighth grade kids and their teacher and other parents. WE arrived in Chicago early. The train to Jackson left right on time, but before we got out more than a couple of miles we were stopped for over an hour due to freights and track maintenance. That trip was only about 4 /2 hours, but of course, we arrived a little over an hour late. All of the staff on the train treated us very well. Our
meals were brought to your bedroom compartment and of course, the cost of the meals was included in the price of the room. We appreciated all of the "necessities" with shower, toilet, and sink and a comfortable bed and also an upper bunk. There were some sections of rather rough track, but on the whole, it was comfortable.
Some of you may remember that Bob has very limited eyesight; he sees outlines mostly, so we really wanted the bedroom that way.
I still read the news wire and the forum items to Bob most every night when we are home. I haven't posted much the last 3 or 4 months, but we feel like we know many of you very well through your posts. You all bring a lot of pleasure to Bob because he cannot read because of his eyes, so your comments and questions bring the world of trains to him. Even though his sight is so limited, Bob enjoyed the train so much and I was the "narrator".
There is more I could tell you, but for now, I need to close. We will be returning to Tucson at the end of the month. I will read posts to Bob when I can. Thanks for bringing joy and info to Bob's life, and of course, I enjoy your posts too.
Nance and Bob from AZ----
Bob will be 84 on May 11, so this has been sort of a birthday present for him! Some of you know that Bob tells me that I am a mere child of 71! Everyone needs someone in their life that thinks they are young!!

Hey nance69, remember you are only as old as you think and feel, and it sounds to me (a baby of 54) that you and Bob have many more years to go until you are truly "old".

A big [bday] wi***o "Daddy Bob", as we call him!! I know they both
enjoyed the train trip to Michigan, and are enjoying their vacation.
And I know they will enjoy the train ride back home just as much.
