Can anyone suggest a good location to observe freight trains within 60 miles of Danbury, CT? Are there any good locations along the Hudson River in NY or any of the rivers in CT? Thanks.

You might want to try Croton on Hudson, there are good vantage points for viewing the Hudson lines of Metro North and the formerly Conrail trains as well as the Metro North shops, lots of power and cars there as well as some Amtrak action. Good luck.
