Rio Grande lives on.......in Ohio?!?!?!?!

I pass that yard every day on my way to school. It's hard to get photo's of that railroad. They keep the Rio Grande paint job but freshen up the paint and put Wheeling and Lake Erie on the side. For the longest the wheeling and lake erie has been running ex-Rio Grande loco's. They have also been using neat lease units of lately and some emd demonstrators? There are some EMD lease unit's and a GATX unit. Still a small drop in the bucket compared to csx leasing. <br /> <br />Another point of interest is the in the first photo to the right is an old turntable pit. It isn't used anymore to turn the engines but it looks as if it is stil used to service the engines <br /> <br />Nora- That's actually Akron's big yard. A little further away is the csx akron hill yard. Small stub ended yard in a little ravine. Ex-b&o of course. You can usually find two caboose sitting in there. One ex CR and on ex chessie. They are hard t ospot through the trees though. <br />Andrew
