Unoin Pacific ES45AC CTE (GEVO) Question?

I have seen alot of (GEVO)'s on alot of other Trains lately.
My understanding is that the UP will use the (GEVO)'s on Coal Trains, Is this True? BNSFrailfan.

I'm no longer in the proverbial loop...but that does seem to be a reasonable assumption. There is some semblance of trying to assign AC power to coal and bulk (e.g. soda ash out of Wyoming to T#5 at Portland) and on the =LI screen (those in the know...know what an =LI is :) )it denotes which service a loco is assigned to...but in reality...due to the liberally-defined and often-abused policy of 'shop balancing' and uneven distribution of power across the terminals, the C45s could find their way into manifest, grain or even hauling company materials (tie & rail trains).

Thanks. I guess I got my answer.

So far, believe it or not, I've only seen GEVOs on intermodal trains. (Of course, I've only seen two or three on the point of any train...)
