Kansas City Railfan Question

I have a limited amount of time available for hobby activities so I tend to spend more time on model railroading than railfanning, but I saw something that puzzled me last week. I was en route to an appointment with a client on Missouri 291 highway. I was Northbound and crossed over the railroad track that run on the South side of Truman Road. There are always boxcars stored on those tracks. This time a blue switcher was working the cars. I was under some time pressure and so did not get off of 291 to investigate. I could not read the lettering on the locomotive from the highway, but was surprised to see something other than UP or BNSF in Independence. Does anyone know who owns those tracks and whose switcher was that? Any info would be much appreciated.

That track is connected to the UP. The blue unit was probably a lease locomotive, we have them here from time to time on the UP branch.
