QUOTE: Originally posted by spbed I do not but I read in the AAA tour guide book it was the longest some kind of bridege in the world. The Illinois end just leads to what I would say are backroads at best. The best shot is not seen on webcam it is the WBer exiting the bridge & then make a left hand turn to come dow the straigh away so you can super head on shots if that is your thing as their is a parking lot right across the street from the exit point & the curve. I day I was their I saw UPRR/BNSF/CNRR & Amtrak. QUOTE: Originally posted by BNSF railfan. Who owns/built that Bridge at Ft.Madison,Iowa? Don't forget about the Norfolk Southern too.
QUOTE: Originally posted by Glen Ellyn Is this railroad line active, because I just oppened the link that spbed put up and saw a Canadian National train.
QUOTE: Originally posted by spbed Yes it is the BNSF transcon line to/from Chicago. Besides the CNRR I have seen UPRR/BNSF/Amtrak (EB about 11/12 in the AM) & some short line whose locos I still have not been to get to fully see who they belong to. Their are also BNSF coal trains delivering coal to the generating plant their that use the old CB&Q. That is the track right up against the street. Do many trains come on that CB&Q spur line, because last night I saw a train, but it wasn't a coal train. It had different goods cars, and the engines were 2 BNSF SD40's
QUOTE: Originally posted by BNSF railfan. Ya and if your lucky anough you will catch that stupid ugly 1+1 unit coal train once in a while.
