I would suspect the emergency brake application before the switch but perhaps they knew the emergency brake application wouldn't bring much up to the switch.</p> <p>So a warning seemed more important to the crew. If they had realized the locomotive before the warning every yard for braking would have counted. </p> <p>If or how it might have changed everything doesn't interest me. I can't change history. But as Mr. Zumwalt had said the investigation starts when looking for the reasons behind the primary findings and what to change.</p> <p>So I think it can be important:<br />Regards, Volker</p>
