What is going to take place in Nov. 14 to 15. What Hotel is this going too take place in Milwaukee, Wis. What other thing do do at this Celebration for Trains 80th anniversary. Anyone have more info on this??

I'm reasonably sure that Kalmbach isn't just going to throw this over, or not provide at least a digital 'celebration' (for example using Zoom) if something to do has to be decided 'early'.

Last time I was at the movies they were advertising special showings for the 80th anniversary of "The Wizard of Oz." "Holy smoke!" I said to myself. "WHEN did 'The Wizard of Oz' get to be an 80-year-old movie?"
The first issue of Trains I ever saw was the 20th anniversary edition (November 1960). The first issue I bought for myself was June 1962.We had a great time at the Trains 75th-anniversary banquet in Milwaukee...hard to believe that it's time to think of another one already! The actual anniversary would be in the fall, and could probably be planned for. I have commitments for late October, but any other time would work for me. Our personal quarantine ends early next month, so we'll see what the trends are by then.

80th anniversary sounds a bit scary, but what scares me even more is that I've been a subscriber for 50 years. It's also a bit over 13 and a half years to MR's 100th anniversary.
I've been reading TRAIN's since Vol #2 (age 7) when my dad started receiving them. He had about six articles published in the forties under a penname (as he was working for the MOPAc). After 1961, I started my own subscription. I hope they servive the economic issues that are affecting all print publications. I look forward to getting each issue. I will watch for more info on festivities.
