Yes, indeed, the IC is no more. It was bought up by CN shortly after the Illinois Central Historical Society put this blurb on their "A BRIEF HISTORICAL SKETCH OF THE ILLINOIS CENTRAL RAILROAD" page. ( http://icrrhistorical.org/icrr.history.html ) "The Illinois Central is the only major rail carrier in the United States still operating essentially under its own name without interruption after nearly a century-and -a-half since its founding." It was operated as the CN-IC for awhile and then CN made the decision to terminate the practice of differentiating between acquisitions and change everything to just CN.
