Trucks being displaced by rail?!

trains will never take much freight from trucks. mainly due to the railroads not being able to increase capacity, or train speed. <br /> <br />i haul perishable produce from the west coast to the east coast and there is no way a train can compete. they are just too slow and unreliable. all the produce would be rotten before it arrived. the only produce moving by rail is the tough stuff, like carrots, potatoes, apples and pears. <br /> <br /> <br />if you bought it, a truck brought it!
