DHL Commercial

At one time DHL used to be a wholly owned subsidiary of Lufthansa German Airlines. They were spun off a few years ago, and have recently been on an acquisition binge buying up MANY small to medium sized trucking companies and airfreight companies across the USA, Canada, Latin America, Africa, and Asia, and merged them all together into one giant worldwide multi-modal goliath. They want to become a truly multi-modal powerhouse to compete head-to-head with both UPS and Fedex/Roadway around the world. They already ship by rail in Europe, Asia, and parts of Africa. <br />In this country, UP can't seem to handle any new traffic and some BNSF execs seem too timid of offending long-time sacred cow UPS to give DHL a truly comprehensive intermodal marketing/shipping plan. SMARTEN UP Fort Worth! Strike now while the iron is hot to get the business of a company whose execs have already demonstrated an affinity and friendliness towards rail (and whose top execs ALL APPROVED of that same commercial that you all like), and BNSF will be able to leave UP permanently behind in market share!
