CHICAGO—Davenport's 10 MacDonalds Saturday were bound for Springfield, Mass., on the family's first vacation in seven years – all for the price of two and one-half railroad fares. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph V. MacDonald and their eight children—Joseph, 12; George, 11; Rosemary, 9; Gerald, 7; Michael, 6; James, 4; Thomas, 2; and Beatrice, 5 months—boarded a New York Central train here Friday. Under the railroad's family travel plan, the 10 MacDonalds ride on two and one-half tickets. Children under 12 are carried free under the plan and children 12 to 16 are carried for half a fare when accompanied by parents. The plan, made to encourage group tours by rail, affords coach accommodations. "The family travel plan gave us a swell chance to visit our parents in New England," MacDonald said. "We're going to visit my wife’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. George W. Dillon in Ware, Mass, and my own, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Mac Donald at St. Albans, Vt. We'll be gone two weeks." MacDonald is production supervisor of the J.I. Case plant at Bettendorf, Ia. The family arrived in Chicago from Davenport Friday on the Rock Island Railroad.
Well I am trying to file a injuntion with the STB and I have talked to Gabe about this after having the first filing rejected. It has to be in the form of a Federal Civil lawsuit filing with double spacing and a appendix. They dont make it easy for the public. The burden of proof is on me to prove my case in both the Catskill and the Androndack railroads. standing is not required however. Unfortunatly the STB as of yet do not have there own investigative unit to go out and police railroad owners and to independently investgate complaints but that is in the works with the reauthrisation act.
