"A major Chinese company has won contracts to complete a rail link running across Kenyaa major project expected to boost connections in East Africa.

China Communications Construction Co has signed a framework agreement with theKenyan government to build two more sections of the Mombasa-Malaba Standard GaugeRailway."

Cecil Rhodes was a dyed-in-the-wool imperialist, and would have lamented the decline of the British Empire in the post-WW2 era.

While we have been preoccpied with other matters, China has become the dominant player in many areas of Africa, mostly private corporations, many small.

China appears to be the only country that view railroads as a growth industry and other countries as the market for their rail technologies.

China foreign RR construction is often to facilitate transport from mines and other resource developments they have interests in.
