Planning a trip to Latrobe, PA in the near future and will be there for an afternoon/early evening.  Any tips on where to railfan around there?  Is it okay to railfan at the Amtrak station?

Stay at the Amtrak Station in Latrobe, Pa. Its great place to see trains and safe place too. Also a great Resturant to eat at too.

Made my trip to Latrobe this past Sunday.  While there, I swung by the Amtrak station, getting there about 4:15PM or so.  After waiting around and not seeing anything, at about 4:50PM, I was ready to call it a day when the first headlight appeared to the West.  In total, I caught 8 freights at the station before the Pennsylvanian arrived for a station stop and then departed, only a few minutes late.  It was a good trip.  Here are the videos of the trains.  Enjoy!

Latrobe, PA = Rolling Rock Brewery.

Also Arnold Palmer's home town.

The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul

It's also the birthplace of the banana split.

The real reason for my trip though was to pay respects to Mr. Fred McFeely Rogers at Unity Cemetery just west of Latrobe.
