Where can I find the symbols of trains so i know where they came from and where they are going? Thanks.

Each railroad has its own train naming or numbering conventions and I don't believe any two are similar.

Go to the fans of the railroad you are interested in for more info.

This is a pretty good site it has many many reporting marks and train symbols for different railroads. They have the current and new CSX symboling system. It dosen't have a list of car numbers though :( I think u may have a time trying to trace certain cars.
