Rail road layoffs and the media

Because we are the ugly step sister of the transportation industry I have a friend in the media told me the only time the editors want the railroad covered is when there is a accident that way they can point the finger at the train and say it should not have been teir and becides a first or second year conductor on lay off does not make as much money as the airline pilot.
