Northeastern Oklahoma Railroad: info
Posted by caboose63 on Monday, September 15, 2014 3:35 PM
Even though I am a Michiganian, I am interested in Oklahoma shortlines, especially the Northeastern Oklahoma Railroad. Is there any stretch of the shortline left in operating existence, or is it 100% gone? Am laso interested in the businesses it served like lead and zinc mines, the B.F. Goodrich plant, and other customers. It certainly would make for interesting shortline to model in any scale like HO, G or S scales.

Caboose 63:

Here is a link to a web site you may find of interest for your search in Oklahoma @ http://schehrer2.homestead.com/index.html

Admittedly the title : " Ottawa County, Oklahoma might lead one to think it is not relevant, but if you drill down into it.    Use the links on the left side of the page "railroads"  will bring you to information on the N.E.O. RR., and its area:

The link @ http://schehrer2.homestead.com/Trains1.html    brings you to a page with a very nice photo of a FRISCO Streamlined Steam locomotive, and its title is titled " Trains and Depots at Miami " ( in Oklahoma that is pronounced : " Mi' am A " Tongue Tied  "

Hope this will help you in your search for information.
